Nice and its boulevard

Even though the old centre of Nice with narrow streets and scents of southern French cuisine has a touch of Italy, the town owes its prestige to the English. During the 19th century, Nice was a very popular destination for the British aristocracy and therefore, the seafront boulevard « La Promenade des Anglais » was dedicated to them. It has become a highly frequented spot of the Mediterranean coast. To admire Nice, you can climb the hill of the castle, offering belvederes that cover the town and the Baie des Anges.
