The Provence and its Lavender fields

When the spring is replaced by the summer and the lavender is blossoming, the Provence is covered in blue and purple tints. The endless lavender fields make the landscape look like an amazing blanket of blue shades. A great number of routes running through the Provence and the hinterland of the Var will lead to a couple of the best lavender growing villages. In the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the lavender route will take you to explore a Provence of blue tones and lavender scents, particularly on the Plateau de Valensole, famous for its vast lavender fields.
